Premier League tips: Bet Builder picks for Liverpool v Arsenal

Warren Ashurst’s selections for Sunday afternoon’s Premier League showdown between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield include a win for the champions and for an in-form forward to find the net.

Back in early March, this game was being talked up as a potential title-decider, but things have since transpired in Liverpool’s favour and the Reds have already clinched their 20th top-flight trophy.

Arsenal now have to focus on making sure of a top-five finish and qualifying for next season’s Champions League after they were knocked out of Europe by Paris Saint-Germain during the week.

We have come up with three Premier League betting tips for Sunday’s clash at Anfield which form a 19/4 Bet Builder.

Liverpool v Arsenal Bet Builder tips

Liverpool to win 21/20

Luis Diaz to score 23/10

Over 2.5 goals 7/10

Reds can take advantage of Gunners slump

Liverpool were understandably flat at Chelsea last weekend, having had a week of celebrating the title following their win over Tottenham.

Arne Slot’s men will return to a full-house at Anfield for this game and several players who were rested at Stamford Bridge should return to their starting XI.

Arsenal head to Merseyside having won just two of their last seven in all competitions, a run which has seen them fall short in both the Premier League and Champions League.

The hosts meanwhile, have lost just one league game at home all season and have opened up a 15-point gap between themselves and Mikel Arteta’s squad.

You have to go back to 2012 for the last time Arsenal won a league game at Anfield and the home side will be determined to extend that run.

Fresh Diaz can deliver in front of goal

Mohamed Salah will quite rightly take the plaudits for his goalscoring efforts for Liverpool this season, but the impact of Luis Diaz should not be underestimated.

The Colombian star has enjoyed his best goalscoring season since joining the Reds from Porto back in January 2022.

Diaz has got 16 goals to his name, with 12 of them coming in the Premier League, and he has three games to enhance that tally further.

The 28-year-old was dropped to the bench at Stamford Bridge but looks likely to start against the Gunners, whom he scored against in last season’s FA Cup meeting.

It’s worth noting that Diaz has scored in the Reds last two home league games, netting the opener against West Ham before sliding home the equaliser in the win over Spurs.

Goals have been flowing

Over 2.5 goals has landed in four of Liverpool’s last five matches, while it would have been a successful bet in five of Arsenal’s last six games in all competitions.

The goals have also flowed in recent meetings between the two sides, with four or more being scored in four of the last five Premier League encounters.

The reverse fixture at the Emirates finished in a 2-2 draw back in October and both teams have scored in five of the last six matchups between the pair.
