Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remains focused and determined despite the setbacks his team has recently faced. Following a tough elimination from the Champions League and a domestic title race that lost momentum, Arteta insisted there’s no time to dwell on disappointment.
“Not now,” he said when asked whether recent events had left him emotionally drained. “Probably because there’s still so much to do, so much to improve—and that’s what motivates me every day.”
Arteta emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards both for himself and for the club. “If anyone has raised expectations around here, it’s me,” he said. “I’ve pushed for more, and once we’ve reached that, I’ve demanded even more.”
He acknowledged the inevitable criticism and frustration that comes with falling short but stressed that learning and growth are part of the journey. “We are very close to achieving what we want. I understand the disappointment. But when there’s only one winner, the rest have to adapt, improve, and come back stronger. That’s the nature of competition.”
Despite recent setbacks, Arteta is confident in his team’s potential to bounce back and continue progressing. “We have to show fight,” he said. “There’s still a lot to achieve.”
