Salford City Acquired by New Consortium Headed by Gary Neville and David Beckham – 2025 SCCG Management

Salford City FC has entered a new era following a takeover by a nine-person consortium led by Gary Neville and David Beckham. With their sights firmly set on guiding the League Two club up the English football pyramid, the new ownership group has outlined its ambition to eventually reach the Premier League.

Neville and Beckham, both former Manchester United stars, were already stakeholders in the club. However, this latest development sees them take the reins as key figures in the new leadership. This reshuffle follows the exit of fellow “Class of ’92” members Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, and Phil Neville, who have all sold their respective 10% shares in the club. The group first invested together in Salford City back in March 2014.

Singaporean businessman Peter Lim, who initially acquired a 50% stake in the club in September 2014, began reducing his involvement in 2019 by selling 10% to David Beckham. He later sold the remaining 40% to Gary Neville in August of last year, paving the way for this new ownership structure.

With fresh leadership at the helm, Salford City is now aiming for an ambitious rise through the football leagues, driven by the vision and experience of some of football’s most iconic names.
