Fight Details + Where to Watch
Navarrete Aims to Cement Legacy
Emanuel Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 KOs) has carved out a reputation as one of Mexico’s most reliable action fighters. The 30-year-old champ has captured gold in three divisions, unleashing his awkward, high-octane style to overwhelm foes.
Navarrete bounced back from a split decision loss to Denys Berinchyk by pummeling Oscar Valdez for a sixth-round stoppage in his latest 130-pound title defense. Now, he’ll make the walk for his 16th championship contest – an impressive feat in today’s era.
If Navarrete wants to keep his belt, he’ll need to lean on that wealth of experience and funky rhythm to disrupt Suarez’s calculated game plan. Dragging the challenger into a firefight could be the key to victory.

Suarez Looks to Seize the Moment
Since turning pro in 2019 after a lengthy amateur run and a trip to the 2016 Rio Olympics, Charly Suarez (18-0, 10 KOs) has been waiting for his shot at the big time. Now 36, the seasoned Filipino has the tools and smarts to make this a real test for Navarrete.
Suarez made waves in 2023 by rallying late to stop the undefeated Paul Fleming on enemy turf in Australia. He rode that momentum through 2024, going 3-0 capped by a win over Jorge Castaneda in his first U.S. appearance.
To dethrone Navarrete, Suarez will have to box smart, using his jab and angles to outfox the hard-charging champ. Sticking to a disciplined approach while landing telling counters could pave the way to a monumental upset.
A win would make Suarez just the third reigning Filipino world titlist – a huge accomplishment for the proud boxing nation. But with Father Time knocking, this chance may be now or never for the 36-year-old “King’s Warrior.”
Navarrete vs Suarez Prediction
Suarez has the ring smarts and slick technique to give Navarrete some new looks, but over 12 rounds, I think the champ’s relentless motor and battle-tested grit will be too much for the aging challenger.
Early on, expect Suarez to have his moments, using that crisp jab and savvy footwork to keep Navarrete off-balance. But as the fight wears on, look for Navarrete to start imposing that awkward rhythm and trademark volume.
By the later rounds, Navarrete’s non-stop assault should have Suarez running on fumes, with his 36-year-old body struggling to keep pace. Suarez is too proud to go away quietly, but he’ll come up short on the cards as Navarrete retains his title with a clear unanimous decision.
Of course, if Suarez can fight a near-perfect fight – pot-shotting Navarrete from the outside while avoiding a slugfest – he’s got an outside shot at scoring the upset. But Navarrete has a history of sucking guys into his kind of brawl, so I’m rolling with the champ to get it done again.
