Erik ten Hag Named New Head Coach of Bayer Leverkusen
Erik ten Hag, the former manager of Manchester United and Ajax, has been appointed as the new head coach of Bayer Leverkusen. The Dutchman has signed a two-year contract with the Bundesliga club.
His arrival follows the departure of Xabi Alonso, who left the German side to take on the head coaching role at Real Madrid. Alonso is expected to be officially introduced as the Spanish club’s new manager on Monday.
Leverkusen, who finished second in the Bundesliga this past season, are looking to build on their strong campaign under new leadership. Ten Hag, who was relieved of his duties at Manchester United in October, now takes on the task of steering the club to further success in both domestic and European competitions.
