Sevilla Players Forced to Stay Overnight at Training Facility After Violent Fan Outburst
Sevilla FC players were compelled to spend the night at the club’s training facility after facing what the club has described as “extreme violence” from angry supporters. The incident followed Sevilla’s 3-2 loss to Celta Vigo, which sparked a disturbing reaction from fans.
According to a statement released by Sevilla on Sunday, a group of supporters gathered outside the José Ramón Cisneros Palacios training ground in protest after the defeat. The club characterized the behavior as “organized vandalism,” strongly condemning the actions that included damage to property and use of pyrotechnics.
Footage shared on social media captured scenes of chaos outside the facility late Saturday night, showing fans igniting flares and damaging one of the access gates. The situation reportedly escalated to the point where the players were unable to safely leave and had to remain inside the training complex overnight.
Club officials reaffirmed their commitment to protecting players and staff, calling the violent demonstrations unacceptable regardless of recent on-field performances.
