A guest at Resorts World hit an astounding jackpot of over $11 million this week, having traveled to Las Vegas to visit family. Early one morning, just 15 minutes into their play, they hit the jackpot at Resorts World on the Las Vegas Strip. This win marks the resort’s first Megabucks jackpot in Las Vegas, with the guest initially wagering only $5. The odds of winning were 1 in 50,000,000.
The casino celebrated the win on social media, posting:

The winner’s identity remains undisclosed.
The winning play occurred on IGT Megabucks Mega Vault, with Resorts World sharing the total win amount of $11,143,660.87 in photos on social media. The last jackpot on this game was hit months ago on February 16. After each win, the Megabucks jackpot resets to $10 million across Nevada, as it is progressive and grows with play.
Slot machine winners typically have the option to receive their prize as a single payment or over annual installments, which are taxed. If choosing the annuity, Megabucks prizes are paid over 25 years.
Resorts World is not the sole venue for big wins. Earlier this year, at the Virgin River Casino & Lodge in Mesquite, a guest won a $12 million jackpot with a $5 bet. Recently, a $1.1 million jackpot was hit at the Venetian, in addition to earlier wins of $3.8 million at Texas Hold’em and $1.5 million on Pai Gow, both at the Venetian.
