Bosnia led for an hour but have to settle for playoffs
Spain and Switzerland held but qualify, as do Belgium
Austria secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup by achieving a 1-1 draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina in Vienna, thanks to Michael Gregoritsch’s 77th-minute equaliser, topping Group H. This marks Austria’s first World Cup finals appearance since 1998.
Bosnia finished second in the group, two points behind, and will enter a playoff in March for a chance to reach the finals, which will be co-hosted by Mexico, the US, and Canada next year.
