For the first time since the 2012-13 “Knickstape” era, the New York Knicks have gone undefeated at the Garden through their first seven home games after a 133-120 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
After a 2-3 start, the Knicks’ initial struggles under the new coaching staff seem to have ended. Their offense is now in rhythm, and they’ve won five straight games, bringing their record to 7-3. They are second in the Eastern Conference, trailing only their 2025 first-round playoff opponent, the Detroit Pistons.
The last five victories have been dominant, all by double-digit margins, and they have surpassed 130 points in three consecutive games for the first time in franchise history.
Despite this success, head coach Mike Brown believes there is room for improvement.
“I thought the first half tonight we were really good. We had plenty of ball reversals, we touched the paint multiple times. We sprayed it. I thought, offensively, we looked really good in the first half,” he said. “The second half, we didn’t move the ball as much. We didn’t space the floor as much. … Our decisions weren’t quick in the second half.”
In their recent dominant performance, the Knicks made a season-high 22 three-pointers on 40% shooting, just two short of their franchise record. By the end of the third quarter, they had 114 points, their most in three quarters since 2008.
Jalen Brunson had his fifth 30-plus point game of the season, with an efficient 11-for-19 shooting performance, including a team-high six three-pointers on 66.7% from long range.
Mikal Bridges continues to be a crucial player on both ends, contributing 22 points, three three-pointers, and four steals. He is having his best season from long range, averaging a career-high 2.7 threes per game at an efficient 47.4% clip.
Though second to the Pistons in the Eastern Conference, the Knicks lead the East by net rating. Their +9.5 net rating is fourth in the league, over four points ahead of Detroit’s +5.3.
This offensive streak isn’t just luck. Mike Brown has evolved the team’s offense. The Knicks are the best three-point shooting team in the league. They are tied with the Cavaliers for most three-pointers made at 17.0 per game, shooting 38.5% compared to Cleveland’s 36.1%. They average 44.1 attempts per game from behind the arc, over 10 more than last year’s 34.0 under Tom Thibodeau.
The Knicks aren’t just thriving from beyond the arc; they are transforming their offensive play with consistent ball movement and bench contributions. They average 310.9 passes per game, a +29.7 increase from last year’s 281.2. The bench is also contributing more, with 31.9 points compared to last year’s 19.9.
The Knicks are in a strong offensive position. If Brown and the team maintain these performances, they could become one of the most formidable teams not just in the East, but in the entire NBA.
The Knicks aim to continue their historic offensive streak and stay undefeated at home as they face the Orlando Magic tonight at the Garden.
