Tribal Sports Betting Booms: Kambi’s 2025 Report Unveils Record Growth

A Year of Unprecedented Expansion

Kambi Group has released its 2025 Tribal Sports Betting Report, revealing record-breaking growth in sports betting among tribal operators. Over the past year, Kambi’s tribal partners saw a 51% increase in total handle and a 72% rise in the number of bets placed. This surge was driven by on-property wagers, which spiked 74%, as well as a 51% growth in online betting.

Football remained the dominant sport for bettors, accounting for 31% of all wagers, while basketball and baseball followed closely with 29% and 20% shares, respectively. The Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs, and March Madness were standout events, contributing significantly to the spike in betting activity.

The Role of On-Property Betting

One of the most striking trends in the report is the sustained growth of on-property sportsbooks. While online betting continues to gain traction, Kambi’s findings suggest that the physical presence of a sportsbook significantly enhances overall casino revenue, including food, beverage, and rewards memberships. At Potawatomi Casino Hotel, for example, reward memberships increased 154% year-over-year, while total property visits nearly doubled.

The Future of Tribal Sports Betting

Kambi’s data underscores the importance of high-quality sportsbook features, particularly cash-out functionality, which keeps bettors engaged. According to the report, nearly half of online bettors who cashed out reinvested their winnings within five minutes.

As tribal operators continue to refine their sports betting offerings, the sector is poised for even greater expansion. With new partnerships, such as those with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and Wind Creek Hospitality, Kambi is solidifying its role as a leader in tribal sports betting solutions.

Personal Insight

The growth seen in tribal sports betting is a testament to how well these operators are integrating modern sportsbook technology with the traditional casino experience. The increase in on-property betting indicates that sportsbooks are more than just revenue drivers—they’re engagement hubs that enhance customer loyalty and on-site spending. As the market evolves, the ability to seamlessly merge digital and retail experiences will be a key differentiator for long-term success.
