As part of the new offerings, BCLC will reintroduce the Toto jackpot game, beloved by many, offering large payouts for predicting the winners of 13 games correctly. While BCLC transitions to the new system, there will be a brief disruption in retail sports betting. From May 25, the only legal way to place bets will be through BCLC’s PlayNow.com website or app. This disruption will be short-lived as the new betting terminals are set to be operational by May 26. The rollout of new lottery terminals across retail and hospitality locations on May 26 is also part of this modernization effort. These terminals promise faster purchasing experiences and enhanced functionality, supporting the province’s lottery business’s future growth. New features include easy-scan ticket checkers, multi-game purchase capabilities, and tap payment options, enhancing convenience for users.
The shift to digital is part of a broader strategic review by BCLC. The corporation has enlisted SCCG Management to conduct a comprehensive assessment of its operations, targeting its shift towards further technological infrastructure.
